After 92-71 and 104-65 in the previous games, Petro confirmed the third and last victory needed to become national champion, by 87-82. The "oil companies" thus secured the achievement of their 14th trophy in the main basketball championship in the country.
Before the final, Petro had already beaten his team B, while the Interclube "policemen" had left the 1st of August behind.
After the 2020 edition of the championship was canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic, the "tricolores" thus saw the title won in 2019 revalidated.
Despite the 'failures' of the last seasons, 1º de Agosto continues to lead the list of clubs with the most trophies won with regard to the national championship of modadity, with 19.
Petro winger is championship MVP
Aboubakar Gakou, who lines up in the extreme post position by the champions of Atletico Petróleos de Luanda, was considered the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the most recent edition of the national senior men's basketball championship.
In the decisive game this Saturday, which gave Petro the title, the 2.01 meter Angolan was highlighted with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Also in evidence were Carlos Morais and Gilson Bango, who took home prizes for best scorer and best recuperator, respectively.
