President of UNITA in Bissau as part of a tour of African and European countries

The president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, arrived this Friday in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, as part of a tour he is making through several African and European countries to seek political support for the "deepening of democracy.

:

"We are touring some European and African countries, we have quite big challenges in the immediate term and this is a sharing visit, because you have shown friendship with Angola, we have with Guinea-Bissau, the CPLP [Community of Portuguese Language Countries] in common, the African continent, and therefore it is absolutely natural," said Adalberto Costa Júnior.

The president of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) was speaking after a meeting with the Guinean head of state, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.

"I am in a movement of political scope, looking for support for Angola, support mainly linked to the deepening of democracy," he said.

"We have a democratization process that is very slow, and a country like Angola, with all its potential, has postponed a bright future, and we have the proposal of being the alternation that the country expects by democratic means. No more than this reality", he added.

Adalberto Costa Júnior, who arrived in Bissau from Portugal, said he will be in Guinea-Bissau for about 24 hours and will "greet the different party representations" where he has "many friends.
