CISP received 219 reports of home quarantine violations

The Angolan Integrated Public Security Centre (CISP) received 444 calls regarding covid-19 in the last 24 hours, of which 36 to alert to suspicious cases and 219 reports of home quarantine violations.

The information was presented this Tuesday at a press conference in Luanda by the Secretary of State for Health, Franco Mufinda.

According to him, of the suspicious cases reported, 31 were discarded, five were investigated and only three of these were validated.

In addition, 53 people were monitored in home quarantine.

Angola currently has seven confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus, of which four patients remain stable, one recovered and two died.

The Secretary of State said that 90 samples were screened in the Calumbo quarantine centre and "all were negative", so these people will be scheduled to leave.

In Angola, 1802 people are in quarantine, of which 788 are in home quarantine and 1014 are institutional.
In Luanda, there are 1010 people in quarantine.

The new coronavirus, responsible for the covid-19 pandemic, has already infected more than 803,000 people worldwide, of whom more than 40,000 have died.

Of the cases of infection, at least 165,000 are considered cured.

After the outbreak broke out in China in December, it spread worldwide, leading the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare a pandemic situation.

The number of deaths in Africa has risen to 173 in recent hours, with confirmed cases exceeding 5,000 in 48 countries, according to the latest statistics on the disease on the continent.
