However, he warns, it is necessary to “monetize this wealth”, valuing, protecting and expanding, he says, in a statement sent to VerAngola.
The official marks the International Dance Day, however regretting a celebration "at a distance and in confinement mode", taking into account the pandemic of covid-19, but calls on art makers to practice it, as a way of maintaining sanity physical and mental health.
“For us, dance has a huge representation in our cultural, modern and past expressions. They are a legacy, and the impact they have on our current reality, can and serves as a catalyst to keep our physical and mental health in a good state of conservation ”, he says.
Adjany Costa also recalled that the paralysis of the cultural sector, and in particular of the live shows, is an effect of social isolation with heavy consequences on the socio-professional fabric of the arts.
He urged cultural agents to reflect and develop “ways of not stopping”. He highlighted the use of new technologies, through which it is possible to “create and make known the work that has already been done and that is intended to be done in the future that will not be long”.
Institutionalized by the UNESCO International Dance Committee in 1982, World Dance Day is celebrated on the birth date of the dancer and ballet master Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), considered one of the pioneers of modern dance.
