The new airport, about 40 kilometers from Luanda and which replaces the current 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, has gradually started operating passenger flights and should have completed the process of transferring domestic and international flights by March 31, 2025.
For now, AIAAN receives only domestic flights.
A note released this Friday by Mintrans says that airlines operating in Angola must carry out this transition gradually, with the complete migration of operations by the announced deadline.
Mintrans also highlights that the transfer process to the new airport serving the capital "has shown positive progress, with a significant increase in passenger satisfaction, who have been experiencing the benefits of a more modern and efficient airport".
