"I salute all the women of our country, highlighting their heroic, permanent and irreplaceable contribution to the cause of peace, social justice and progress in Angola," says the head of state, in the message released by the Presidency of the Republic and to which VerAngola had access.
"In the year in which we celebrate, with deserved enthusiasm and joy, the fiftieth anniversary of our National Independence, it is worth remembering the determined action of Angolan Women since the times of the National Liberation Struggle until today, in which we all proudly witness their growing role in all spheres of Angolan society", he continued.
According to João Lourenço, "by their own merit and right, Angolan women" currently occupy "the most varied positions in the public sphere and beyond, working tirelessly for the collective well-being".
"May March 2nd once again be a relief for the daily struggle carried out by all Angolan women, from Cabinda to Cunene, as pillars in the education of their children, as managers of balance and harmony in homes, as resilient actors in the production of food, especially in the countryside, in short, as an unavoidable force in the greater effort to resolve the challenges that the country still faces", concluded the President of the Republic.
