Insurance regulator recorded violations in 20 cases last year

The Angolan Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency (ARSEG) instructed 39 sanctioning processes in 2024, and 20 resulted in fines between four million kwanzas and 20 million kwanzas.

At least 20 cases resulted in fines for various infractions, four were exempted from sanctions and 15 were archived, according to the report on sanctioning processes for the 2024 financial year prepared by ARSEG and released this Thursday.

Violations of the duty to request registration of corporate bodies within the legal deadline and the duty to provide mandatory periodic information, failure to comply with the duty established within the scope of market conduct and violation of governance rules are among the sanctioned infractions.

Four transgressions relating to failure to comply with the duty to provide mandatory and periodic information within the legal deadline were not subject to sanctions.

ARSEG controls and has registered 22 insurance companies, nine pension funds and nine pension fund management companies.
