The numbers are contained in a document, the presentation of which was made this Tuesday, at a press conference, by Mateus Sebastião, vice-president of MONAAR.

In addition to the number of jobs created, the document also refers to the construction of social infrastructure in the country. Thus, during the period in question, the document reports on the construction of more than 1200 hospital infrastructures, as well as more than 2500 schools at all levels of education, 25 centralities in 12 provinces – providing more than 340 apartments –, the alongside the other four taking place in Cabinda, Moxico, Malanje and Lunda Sul.

In the field of energy, according to Jornal de Angola, since 2017, the country has seen the construction and rehabilitation of new dams capable of generating energy, enabling 12 provinces to benefit from hydroelectric energy. It also highlights the construction of photovoltaic parks in Biópio and Baía Farta.

It also takes stock of the diamond and mining sector, noting that Angola is currently capable of cutting diamonds through three factories located in the province of Lunda Sul. It is also able to refine oil, as a result of the rehabilitation of the Luanda Refinery, also highlighting the fact three other refineries are being built.

Mateus Sebastião also pointed out that Angola "managed to create the conditions to stop burning natural gas through the Soyo LNG, which allows liquefied gas to be exported to many European countries. This is why the Soyo Combined Cycle of energy production was created".

In terms of agriculture, the country saw investment increase, enabling it to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of bananas, cassava, eggs, etc.

"During this same period, many manufacturing industries were built, through private public investment, particularly in the exploration of granite, in the provinces of Namibe and Huíla", said the person in charge, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

He also referred to the reconstruction of approximately 10 thousand kilometers of road on the North-East, North-South and South-Center axes, as well as mentioning the investment made in water control, with emphasis on the Cafu Canal, in the province of Cunene.

According to Jornal de Angola, to prove the "gains" advanced by the MONAAR document, a delegation made up of more than 300 Angolans living abroad will, over the course of two weeks, undertake a tour, which is scheduled to take place in April and whose costs will be borne by MONAAR.

"MONAAR decided to share with Angolan citizens residing in the diaspora in order to allow them to know how the country is doing and what opportunities the country has to invest", said the vice-president of MONAAR.
