According to the person in charge – who met, this Monday, with Angelino Elavoco, vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector of Huambo –, around 1090 direct jobs, 650 of which during the period of construction of infrastructures and others 440 in the exploration phase, should be generated by the project.

Quoted by Angop, Tim George also said that accompanying the exploration will be the execution of social programs to benefit the well-being of citizens, promoting sustainable agriculture and professional qualifications for young people in the mining sector.

On the occasion, he also highlighted that the initiative could draw on human resources from the region, as a result of the professionalization of Huambo's youth, promoted by the Ozango Mineral project, with the aim of boosting jobs in the municipality of Longonjo - where the "Terras Raras" –, in a mineralization feasibility plan.

With an initial budget of around 200 million dollars, according to Angop, investors also want to be part of the dynamism of economic growth programs, focusing on the Lobito Corridor, as well as showcasing Huambo's mining potential.

According to him, with this initiative, businessmen focused on the exploration plan for this ore will be able to take part in the agenda for improving social infrastructure at provincial level, linked to access roads, aiming to boost effective travel.

Angelino Elavoco considered this project as an added value to diversify the economy, as well as stimulate employability, ensuring that the provincial government will support the initiative, in order for it to be successful.

It should be noted that the exploration of Huambo's "Rare Earths" is part of the Ozango Mineral program, whose project was designed for two decades in Longonjo. According to Angop, Ozango Mineral will begin, in the near future, the construction of infrastructures in Longonjo, in a program established for 12 months.

The "Rare Earths" reserve is made up of 17 types of rare minerals, including neodymium, lanthanum, preaseodymium, gadolinium, samarium, cerium, among others. These ores are considered valuable because they are used as raw materials in the manufacture of technology devices, because of their characteristics, such as cell phones, etc.
