Musician Justino Handanga dies at age 55

Justino Handanga, author of hits such as “Paulina”, died this Monday, in the capital, due to illness. The musician was 55 years old.

The news about his death is reported by Angop, which cites an official source.

Natural from Huambo and born on January 1, 1969, Handanga leaves behind a rich CV made up of several hits, such as "Paulina, "Tenho Saudades", "Carlito", "Ndumbalundo", among others.

Dedicated to the popular style, the musician entered the world of music in the 80s, after losing his parents, at the age of five, while participating in the "Pio-Pio" competition, says Angop.

Furthermore, his career also highlights his participation in the 15th edition of Rádio Nacional de Angola's Top dos Mais Queridos, in 2005, having placed third with "Paulina", while, in the following year, he placed fifth, having taken the stage alongside Bangão.

"Ondjonguele Ya Telisiwã (Alvo Atingido)", from 2004, and "Homenagem ao impresario Valentim Amões", from 2011, are his two albums present on the music market.

Also noteworthy is the fact that, at the age of 17, he joined the former Popular Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola, where he was part of the corporation's musical ensemble, called "Pela Paz", writes Angop, which adds that, after having completed his military service, he joined the National Police in 1992.
