Vice-President wants Gingas do Maculusso in the process of elevating Semba

Esperança da Costa and Rosa Roque, mentor of the famous Gingas do Maculusso, met this Tuesday, with the Vice-President of the Republic expressing her desire to see the group participate in the process of elevating Semba to Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The group's mentor accepted the challenge, showing her satisfaction with the Government's engagement in this process. “I express my happiness in knowing that the Vice-President is concerned with traditional culture, with popular culture and that she greatly values the group, the work of Gingas do Macalusso and that she would like to see them well referenced in the Semba project and above all, that they actually had a predominant role”, highlighted Rosa Roque.

The occasion also served to discuss some ongoing projects that require funding for their implementation, such as the 'Festival Infantil Brilho Sol', taking place in June, the show Delírio Musical, which will involve the big names of Semba and other popular and traditional music movements, to be held in November, and the launch of a book about the hemodialysis process in Angola.

“We are therefore planning to launch a book to talk about the hemodialysis process in Angola, because I am also undergoing this treatment, which in Angola is being viewed with great seriousness (by the Executive)”, acknowledged the professor, who wishes to present his testimony as a patient.

Construction of a school and participation in the Annual Conference of Young Women Entrepreneurs in Angola mark other VP audiences

On another occasion, the Vice-President of the Republic was informed by the general secretary of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), Deolinda Dorcas Teca, about the project to build a school with 20 rooms, 64 dormitories, conference rooms and other sectors, in the Ramiros neighborhood, in Luanda, which will be used to train men and women.

“It is a project that will not only teach people to read and write, but we will also be looking at what moral and civic values are, which must be preserved from the initial stage, from the child's base”, said the general secretary of CICA.

In the last audience of the day, Esperança da Costa responded positively to the invitation to participate in the 1st Annual Conference of Young Women Entrepreneurs in Angola, which will take place on the 16th (Saturday), under the theme “The role of female leadership in the process of economic and social diversification of the country”.

The information was transmitted to the press by the president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Angola (ANJE), Alfredo Cumbi, at the end of the audience with the Vice-President of the Republic.

According to Alfredo Cumbi, nowadays women have reached a satisfactory development that has allowed the process of social development. “We have women in leadership positions who have played a good role and we therefore believe that we clearly need to empower other women in these areas so that we can have a better Angola for everyone”, highlighted the president of the association, which has existed since August 2023.
