The General Tax Administration (AGT), in a statement to which VerAngola had access, justifies the extension of the deadline with the fact that there have been constraints on the Taxpayer Portal, as a result of new technological developments on the platform.
"The General Tax Administration informs, to all taxpayers, taxpayers of the Labor Income Tax (IRT) and Industrial Tax (II), that as a result of new technological developments, constraints have been verified at the level of the Taxpayer Portal regarding to the electronic submission of model 2, IRT remuneration statement and withholding of Industrial Tax, referring to the month of January, therefore, the deadline for submission is extended until the 31st of March, without any legal increase (fines and interest)", reads the statement.
In order to confirm "quickly and effectively the taxpayer's tax situation", the AGT recommends "to those who have delivered the Industrial Tax (II) withholding tax statement, by physical means, at the tax office of their domicile, to submit on the Taxpayer Portal within the period indicated above, and for this purpose, the settlement note generated by the portal must be reconciled with the settlement note paid", adds the statement.
In addition, AGT also regretted the inconvenience caused and thanked "all the collaboration that the modernization process" of its systems "has deserved, reinforcing the commitment" that the administration "is fully committed to guaranteeing simpler, faster and more effective access to taxpayers".
