Petro de Luanda goes to the 'quarters' of the African 'Champions'

Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese Alexandre Santos, qualified on Saturday for the quarter-finals of the African Football Champions League, beating Sagrada Esperança by 3-0, in the fourth round of Group D.

The Brazilian Tiago Azulão, in the first minute of the game (16 seconds) and at 44, and Érico Castro, from a penalty, at 90+5, scored the goals that put the Angolan team back to the leadership of Group D, with 10 points, when there are two rounds left in the group stage.

Petro de Luanda will play again on March 19, in Luanda, against the Egyptians of Zamalek, led by the Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira, while the Angolans of Sagrada Esperança receive on the same day, also in Luanda, Wydad de Casablanca, from Morocco.

The Moroccans, second in the group, with nine points, had also already secured qualification for the 'quarters', on Friday, by beating the Egyptians, who are third, with two points, ahead of Sagrada Esperança, last, with just one point.
