João Lourenço received deputies from Guinea-Bissau. Situation in that country at the center of the conversation

The President, João Lourenço, received this Monday, at the Presidential Palace, with a delegation of deputies from Guinea-Bissau. At the center of the conversation was the “current situation in that country”.

In a note made available on its Facebook, the Government states that, as President pro-tempore of the CPLP, the head of state received "Guinean deputies, belonging to different political formations, who provided information on the current situation in that country".

According to the statement, João Lourenço "took good note" of what was transmitted to him.

The President also appealed for "common sense and harmony to prevail between the different political sensitivities of Guinea-Bissau, for the good of that brother country".

It is recalled that on 1 February, armed men attacked the Government Palace of Guinea-Bissau, where a Council of Ministers was being held, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and the Prime Minister, Nuno Nabiam, and which resulted in eight deaths.
