The official announced that the project will begin at the end of April and will be completed in 2025.
Speaking at Soyo, after the public presentation of the project to officials from the government of the province of Zaire, the municipal administration of Soyo and civil society, Faustino Conde Pongue made it known that in an initial phase the project will involve more than 2000 workers, of which mostly young people who will be hired locally.
Cited by Angop, the official also indicated that negotiations are being carried out to legalize the land where the infrastructure will be installed: "We are negotiating a space belonging to Sonangol for the transfer of 712 square kilometers, where the refinery will be built" .
The refinery, valued at 3 billion and 500,000 dollars, will be built by the Quantem consortium, in Matanga.
A residential area for 1,000 workers, a plant for the production and treatment of drinking and waste water, a sanitary waste landfill, a power plant, a processing unit and another for the supply of crude oil, among others, will be part of the project.
