"It saddens me immensely to have to share with you that we have been notified that Jackie has been formally charged as a co-conspirator in the murder of her husband," Pastor Troy M. Eastman said in a statement shared on the church's website.
In the same statement, the agent said that the trial should take place in the next six months.
Beau and Jackie's five children are living with nearby family members, supported by the evangelical missionary organization SIM, which operates in Angola and other countries, and the Lakes Area Vineyard Church.
The arrest of American citizen Jacqueline Shroyer and two Angolans, allegedly involved in the death of Beau Shroyer, on October 25, in the province of Huíla, southern Angola, was announced by Angolan authorities on November 7.
At the time, the spokesperson for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Manuel Halaiwa, said that the victim's wife was the mastermind behind the crime and an accomplice of a 24-year-old Angolan citizen, a former employee of a security company that protected the couple's home and maintained a close relationship with the family.
According to Manuel Halaiwa, there were "strong suspicions of a relationship, possibly romantic, between the person who ordered the crime and the participant, her accomplice".
The perpetrator of the crime, a 23-year-old citizen with a police record, was also arrested, and another accomplice is on the run.
To carry out the crime, the person who ordered it would have paid the amount of 9,400 dollars, which the accused would have converted into kwanzas.
According to the SIC spokesperson, the person who ordered the execution "will have ordered her husband's execution because she did not want to leave Angola", wanting "permanent contact, but also to carry out another action focused on missionary life".
The couple, married for 20 years, with five children, arrived in Angola in 2021 to provide missionary services for LAVC.
Beau Shroyer, 44, was allegedly lured by his wife to a deserted location to learn how to drive a manual transmission, where he was stabbed to death inside his vehicle, while Jacqueline Shroyer was driving away.
