"We have been received (by the Angolan authorities) with great dignity and respect and the idea is that in a very short period of time all Cape Verdeans are effectively legalized, (as well) that the renewal of cards is done quickly and also with costs acceptable for the pockets of each Cape Verdean", he explained.

"I think this year should already happen, we had already discussed it, we had the pleasure of being received by the Minister of the Interior [...] it is going very well and I think that by June we will have it well closed", he assured.

Regarding the application and/or requisition of nationality for Cape Verdeans residing in Angola for years, the diploma explained that the process, in his country, takes place at zero cost, the result of a "great transformation at the level of the local consulate".

"Nowadays, the grandson or great-grandson of Cape Verdeans in Angola can access their Cape Verdean documentation without any problems and at zero cost. up to the level of great-grandchildren, they have everything and it's free", he guaranteed.
