Unitel extends 4G service to four more locations in the country

In January, Unitel extended Voice and Data services in 4G technology to four more locations in the country, namely: Songo (Uíge province), Waku Kungo - Cela (Cuanza Sul), Cambambe (Kuanza Norte) and Dinge (Cabinda ).

:

Dinge was also awarded 2G and 3G technologies.

The 3G and 4G services already available in 526 localities, communes and municipalities in the country, allow for the transmission of Voice and Data (browsing websites, downloading and using online applications more quickly).

4G now covers the capitals of Angola's 18 provinces and has a deployment of 31.1 percent in municipalities and above 13.7 percent in communes, says a statement sent to VerAngola by the operator.

With more than 14 thousand kilometers of optical fiber, Unitel says it is committed to being "the engine of technological development by providing a network capable of supporting the transmission of voice and data calls with quality, reliability and transmission speed".

On December 30, the operator successfully completed the first 5G data call in Angola using an allocated mid-band spectrum of 3.5 GHz.

The 5G infrastructure used was supported by Ericsson 5G core and radio access technologies for NSA (Non Stand Alone) networks, solutions that will allow a rapid market launch of 5G.
