Francisco Pereira Furtado pays tribute to the heroes of the 4th of February

Francisco Pereira Furtado, Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, paid tribute to the heroes of the 4th of February, this Friday, the 61st anniversary of the beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation.

According to a note from the government of Lunda Sul, the ceremony will take place in Saurimo.

The act was witnessed by the Minister of Territory Marcy Lopes, the provincial governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Félix Neto, the minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, representatives of political parties, representatives of the Federation of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, Association of Heroes of 4 February, members of the Government, security and internal order bodies and civil society.

As part of the February 4 celebrations, the minister considered that peace and stability are essential principles for the country's development.

During his speech at the central act of the celebrations, Francisco Pereira Furtado underlined the names of some commanders, who have already died, such as Paiva Domingos, Nelito Soares, Neves Bendinha, among others, having considered that "thanks to these brave heroes who with courage and determination it was possible to indelibly write the name of Angola in the concert of nations and sovereignty".

He also took the opportunity to reinforce that the Government remains committed to overcoming hunger, poverty and unemployment as well as increasing national production.
