Police vs protesters: new protest attempt forces authorities to disperse 150 citizens

Police and protesters were again involved in clashes in the country, in a new demonstration attempt that involved at least 150 young people. The intention was to boycott the celebrations of the day of the Beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, which was celebrated this Thursday.

Unhappy with the country's administration, thirsty for better living conditions and demanding job opportunities, the protesters intended to march to the Presidential Palace. The demonstration was again thwarted by the authorities.

The young people started to concentrate around 11 am next to the Santa Ana cemetery. Not being allowed to start the demonstration march, they will have started acts of vandalism, namely, burning tires, placing garbage and obstacles on the roads and damaging property. public, reports Angop.

The action triggered the intervention of the National Police, forcing the protesters to change the route to Avenida Brasil, where irregularities were again committed, including disrespect for the biosafety measures imposed by the state of public calamity to control the covid-19 pandemic. .
