Country registered 59 new cases and three more deaths by covid-19

The country has registered in the last 24 hours 59 more cases of infection by the new coronavirus and three deaths, announced this Thursday the Secretary of State for Public Health.

In a statement, Franco Mufinda specified that of 59 new cases, 32 were registered in Luanda, nine in Huambo, eight in Benguela, five in Zaire, two in Huila, one in Cunene, one in Lunda Sul and one in Uige.

Of this total, 26 are male and 33 are female, with "ages ranging from 10 to 83 years.

Of the three deaths, two were registered in the province of Luanda and one in Huambo, he reported, adding that they were people aged between 63 and 78.

On the other hand, 46 people recovered from the disease, which brings the number of recovered to 18,381.

Angola has recorded 19,996 cases of infection by the disease and 473 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.

Currently, the country has 1142 active cases and of these three patients are in critical condition and nine in severe.

The country, according to the same note, has, at this moment, 180 patients hospitalized with the disease.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,269,346 deaths resulting from more than 104.3 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
