On February 13, the Centro Cultural Brasil Angola (CCBA) will host the screening of the film "Gilda Brasileiro - Contra o Esquecimento". This is a documentary by Roberto Manhães Reis and Viola Scheuerer that tells the story of Gilda Brasileiro and his research on a clandestine slave route.
In sequence, the workshop "Revisiting the Past, Understanding the Present" appears. The documentary authors will be in Angola and invite to a workshop on how to work with historical photographs in documentaries. The aim is to stimulate reflection on the different contexts implicit in archival photography.
In the referred workshop, the two will practice reading the historical image, questioning our view and seeking other perspectives. From there, they use the audio-visual language to record the dialogue between "today" and the moment of "click".
The workshop has the character of a laboratory. Projects that use historical photography as a starting point will be presented, and there will be practical experiences with archival images from the National Museum of Anthropology.
