The executive is made up of 24 ministerial departments (23 ministries and a secretariat of the Council of Ministers), including the Ministry of Economy and Planning, which disappeared, according to presidential legislative decree 2/24, of January 19, to make way for to the Ministry of Planning.

According to the diploma that Lusa had access to this Monday, the reconfiguration is due to the need "to provide greater efficiency and effectiveness in the actions of the auxiliary ministerial departments of the President of the Republic, taking care of the overlapping of tasks between sectors of the executive's economic domain".

The previous Minister of Economy and Planning Vítor Hugo Guilherme is reappointed – now as Minister of Planning –, with economic control also being ensured by the Minister of State and Economic Coordination, a position currently occupied by José de Lima Massano.

The ministerial departments assist the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as holder of the Executive Branch, in the governance and administration functions of their respective sectors.

The President also has other auxiliary bodies whose function is to provide direct and immediate assistance, advice and technical support to the President of the Republic: office of the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Civil House of the President of the Republic, office of the Minister of State for the Social Area, Military House of the President of the Republic, office of the President of the Republic and general secretariat of the President of the Republic.

In addition to Vítor Hugo Guilherme for the position of Minister of Planning, the head of State appointed, this Monday, four new Secretaries of State for his Government and a new Secretary of the President for Economic Affairs.
