Country will have a Strategic Plan for Electromobility that foresees introducing electric vehicles in the country

The approval of the Electromobility Strategic Plan, which foresees the introduction of electric vehicles in the country, should take place this year. According to the Minister of Transport, Ricardo D'Abreu, the project will take place in stages and will give priority to collective transport and goods.

"We are going to get our Electromobility Strategic Plan approved shortly. We have already defined a strategy, it is already designed, we are going to approve it at the Executive level, where we will then proceed to introduce electric vehicles", said Ricardo D'Abreu, cited by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

According to the holder of the Transport portfolio - who was speaking in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - the strategy will take place in phases, favoring public transport vehicles and goods: "The strategy is phased, favoring public transport vehicles and of goods and also by regions depending on our level of development of the energy transmission and distribution network".

"It is a process that will be phased and will start later this year", he added, quoted by RNA.

In addition, the minister also took the opportunity to indicate that the infrastructures must "present solutions for the supply of clean energy" to ensure their functioning. "Infrastructures also have to present clean energy supply solutions to guarantee their functioning. This is a process that we are also doing, whether at the new Luanda international airport or at the current 4 de Fevereiro airport and at others nationwide and in the ports as well", he said.

"There is a very important commitment here in terms of the transport sector because we really need to guarantee the energy transition", he added, quoted by RNA.
