SNITAA, in a statement sent to Lusa, states that the decision to temporarily suspend the strike, with effect from 2 pm local time (1 pm in Lisbon), resulted from the intervention of the Ministry of Transport, which guided the signing of a term of commitment.
The term of commitment between the union and the board of directors of Empresa Nacional de Navegação Aérea (ENNA) aims to "immediately satisfy one of the points in the list of demands and define a schedule for negotiation and/or resolution of the others".
Better working conditions, wages, career progression, training and medical assistance are included in the list of demands submitted to the administration of the public company in May 2022, whose non-satisfaction gave rise to the strike called for an "indeterminate period" and now suspended.
The general secretary of SNITAA, Anastácio Afonso, previously confirmed to Lusa the start of the strike, noting that the stoppage covered the institution's operational services and also admitting the suspension of the stoppage.
