TAAG plane on the São Paulo-Luanda route was transporting drugs. Brazilian police are investigating

Um avião da transportadora aérea TAAG, que fazia a ligação entre a cidade brasileira de São Paulo e Luanda, transportava um “artefacto” contendo droga, tendo a tripulação alertado as autoridades, que estão a investigar o caso.

The information circulated this Tuesday on social networks and was confirmed by the airline which, in a statement, clarified that the “suspicious artifact” was detected on an aircraft that made the São Paulo–Luanda service on January 1, 2023.

After the crew's alert, the Brazilian authorities checked the aircraft and confirmed that the "artifact" contained narcotics, having opened an investigation process led by the Federal Police of Brazil, with which TAAG is cooperating.

After the due diligence, the aircraft followed its normal flight itinerary.

In the note, TAAG condemned "all types of malicious practices" and expressed its willingness to collaborate in actions to prevent and combat illicit practices "in order to guarantee operational and passenger safety".
