BNA: commercial banks obliged to report on requests for granting credit

Commercial banks must submit to the National Bank of Angola (BNA), as of February, information on requests for credit granting, "regardless of their nature", and proceed with the registration of the credit granted, the institution announced.

:

According to BNA directive no. 01/2023, consulted this Monday by Lusa, banking financial institutions must report information on grant requests through the Credit Information and Risk Center (CIRC) on a weekly basis.

The directive also stipulates that banking financial institutions must proceed with the registration of the credit granted to the CIRC within thirty days after the reimbursement date.

The lack of registration of credit granted, says the central bank, implies the retention or suspension of the benefit of credit rights, under the terms of the notices of September and October 2022 on the granting of credit.

This directive, dated 10 January 2023, enters into force thirty days after its publication.

Monitoring and monitoring compliance with response deadlines for analysis and communication of the final decision, formalization and availability of credit to borrowers are the foundations of the new BNA measure.
