"Our investments directly linked to the issue of production were above 100 million dollars during the last year", he said.
According to the official, of the total invested, US$70 million was directed towards increasing the stake in Sociedade Mineira de Catoca – now holding 41 percent of the capital.
"We make significant investments in the field of production. As an example, I must mention that these investments were made either in terms of projects already in operation, to improve, for example, our provision, our participation, in the specific case of Catoca , we had a 32.8 percent stake, today we have a 41 percent stake and that cost us 70 million dollars," said the official.
The remaining 30 million were allocated to two other diamond projects, said the official, who was speaking at a press conference, alluding to the company's 41st anniversary.
He also took the opportunity to recall that the national diamond company is focused on activities that aim to stimulate geological-mining actions, with the aim of increasing production and expanding its operation in the diamond value chain.
Ganga Júnior also announced that Endiama estimates that this year it will produce 10.5 million carats of diamonds and raise US$1.4 billion.
