Covid-19: country with 92 more cases, two deaths and 90 recoveries

The country registered 92 new cases of covid-19 and two more deaths, considering as recovered 90 patients, in the last 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin of health authorities.

The new infections were diagnosed in Huambo (32), Luanda (22), Cabinda (14), Huila (7), Cuanza Sul (7), Bié (3), Bengo (2), Moxico (2), Zaire (2) and Lunda Norte (1), with 53 male and 39 female cases, aged between 2 months and 86 years.

In this period two more deaths were reported, both in the province of Huila, and 90 patients considered recovered, aged between 1 and 82 years.

The laboratories processed 2370 samples, a cumulative of 357,246, with a positivity rate of 5.5 percent.

With the new data, the country now accounts for 19,672 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 464 deaths, 17,692 data as recovered and 1516 active.

Among the 1,516 active cases, 190 are hospitalized, including three in critical condition and 19 in severe condition.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,176,000 deaths from more than 100 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the African Union (Africa CDC), the number of infected in this continent since the beginning of the pandemic is 3,494,117 and the number of deaths 87,937.

The first case of covid-19 in Africa emerged in Egypt on February 14, and Nigeria was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to register cases of infection on February 28.

Covid-19 is a respiratory disease caused by a coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
