Angolan produces video clip presenting the new Spider-Man game for PlayStation

Baptista João is one of many Angolans living and working away from his country. Resident in the Spanish capital, Madrid, the filmmaker owns a cinematographic company - Kamba Films - hired to make the video clip presenting a game for the brand new PlayStation5.

It was the multinational Sony that “noticed” the Angolan and his work. So, it was imposed from the challenge: Kamba Films was responsible for the production of the video clip that promotes the ‘return’ of Spider-Man - “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales”. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Sony's latest bet.

Baptista João told Jornal de Angola that the video has a length of 2.56 minutes, having been recorded in the last two weeks of December. The launch is expected in the next few hours.

The filmmaker stressed that this is an electronic action and adventure game, developed by Insomniac Games, published by Sony Interactive for PlayStations 4 and 5.

After some sporadic work, it was about four months ago that the Angolan decided to create his own company, in partnership with two Spanish friends, Mário Alonso and Manuel Sánchez-Cid. Kamba Films is thus a production company specialized in documentaries, fiction and video clips.

Over the past few months, Baptista João had already stood out with audiovisual works in the world of cinema, with special emphasis on the documentary “Kizomba Sem Fronteiras”. It portrays the expansion of this genre of music and dance in the diaspora, having been shown in more than 18 African cities, in Europe, America and Asia.

The filmmaker is a Medium Social Communication Technician, graduated from the Luanda Medium Economics Institute, and also has a degree in Audiovisual Production and Shows from the National University of Distance Education in Madrid.
