Located two kilometres southeast of the village of Ambuila and 90 kilometres northeast of Uige, the Battle of Ambuila Monument symbolises the battle between the residents of that area and the Portuguese, at the time of the colonies.
The monument was built in 1945 by the Portuguese.
The battle of Ambuila began on October 29, 1665 between the Kingdom of Portugal and the Kingdom of Congo. After the Portuguese had won the battle they beheaded the King of the Congo.
