According to information made available on Sunday by the Interior Ministry, Lucusse's policemen were called in the middle of the afternoon to assist a man who was being beaten for allegedly being a wizard, having managed to remove the attackers and take him to the police station.
The aggressors, unhappy that the police prevented the man's death, gathered a group of about 300 people, including men, women and children, and went to the police station, armed with machetes, sticks, hoes and knives, to kill the man, said the guardianship.
In an attempt to prevent the man's death and protect themselves from invaders, the police used force and firearms, and a 10-year-old child was killed as part of the group.
During the invasion a police officer was also beaten up who died on the spot.
"The Moxico police authorities promise to investigate in order to find out who is responsible and to continue with the criminal proceedings that the situation imposes", says a statement from local police, which ends with a call for calm.
