"We hope there will be good results. We already have good indications from some potential investors", stated the minister.

The country has held meetings with potential partners, and there is already an interest on the part of American investors to invest in Angola, according to the holder of the Health portfolio, who also highlighted that at the heart of the Government's priorities, with possible partners, is the formation of staff, pharmaceutical industry, as well as strengthening health systems and communication technologies, writes Angop.

Sílvia Lutucuta – who was speaking in Dallas (United States of America), where the US-Africa Business Summit is taking place until this Thursday – also said that it was necessary for the country to continue the work aimed at attracting investors, with the aim of diversify the sector's sources of financing.

According to the minister, the National Health System is almost completely dependent on the General State Budget (OGE), receiving a percentage of international contributions below five percent. This percentage, she considered, is very low, which leads the Government to work on a plan in search of new sources of financing.

The minister also said that other sources of revenue destined for the sector under her supervision can be through contributions, public insurance or public-private partnerships.

She also mentioned that it is a strategy that they are working on in partnership with other ministries: "This is a strategy that we are working on with the ministries of Finance, Planning and Social Action", said Sílvia Lutucuta who, cited by Angop, defended the the fact that Angola needs to look for other sources of financing for the sector besides the General State Budget.

Regarding the summit, the minister said that the country would share its experience with the other countries present at the event, as well as seek partnerships aimed at improving the National Health System. "We will have the opportunity to share our experience and hear from panellists from other countries what has been done in the private sector, what we can do together to have our health systems increasingly stronger", she stated, quoted by Angop.

It should be remembered that in recent years, the country has invested in the field of Health, through the construction of new hospitals, the purpose of which is to reduce the expense incurred in sending patients abroad, as well as improving assistance domestically.
