On November 15, from 6pm, Angolan artist Sueki will present an individual exhibition entitled "Xibata Já Mundo: The stairs of the world, some climb, others descend them" or "The Stairs of the World", at Espaço Luanda Arte (ELA).
From the proverb in Kimbundo "YA AJIBANDA, YA AJIKULUMUKA" which means "the stairs of the world, some go up, others go down", this is the starting point for a show that brings together different artistic supports: photography, painting, collages and installations favoring materials for everyday use for a critical reflection on social differences focusing on the artist 's homeland, Angola.
A record that proposes a critical reflection on the distances that separate us from other individuals in the same society, all children of the desire for one day to become a nation. Visually and conceptually revealing the various phases, actors and factors, many of them from outside and beyond the control of those who experience them and highly determinant for a successful climb.
The exhibition will be on display until January 29, 2020 at ELA.
