Union of PGR technicians considers "drop in the ocean" new vacancies for the sector

The Union of Justice Technicians of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) this Monday praised the announcement of the public tender for the entry of 450 new justice technicians in that body, considering, however, that it is "a drop in the ocean".

:

"This contest comes at a good time, as we have been living and working for a long time, afflicted by the lack of new strength, new blood in the PGR, since the people who worked in this organ many died and other retirees left a great void," said this Monday Elias Pinto, secretary general of the union, in statements to Lusa.

According to the union leader, the "flight" of some justice technicians from the PGR "to the magistracy of the Public Ministry and to companies that paid better" contributed to the current deficit of employees of the PGR, which currently has fewer than 2000 employees.

"This deficit (of technicians) has been preventing the proper functioning and completely reducing the statistics of the work we do every day, because it requires strength, requires men and all the resources that aim to boost the PGR itself and the Angolan State itself" , he stressed.

The Government approved 450 openings for entry into the career of justice technicians under the special regime of the PGR and 500 openings for entry into the careers of courts of the special regime for justice officials.

The allocation of vacancies for the entry of PGR justice technicians is expressed in a joint order of the Ministries of Justice and Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, which Lusa had access to this Monday.

For Elias Pinto, the quota of vacancies attributed to the PGR "is a drop in the ocean, all over the country, this number is insufficient".

"I don't know if the State is watching the country with eyes to see or if it has that concrete overview of knowing what the country needs and how many municipalities the country has and then opting for 450 places", he said.

"We are not going to fall into this situation of lack of money, which is not quite true, the country has enough resources to put people to work and this habit that the country does not have money is a pure lie," said the union leader.

The vacancies allocated to the sector will be filled through a public tender.

According to joint order No. 5603/21 of 13 December 2021, already published in Diário da República, the central body of the PGR should absorb 47 new technicians.
