Quoted in a statement sent to VerAngola, Bornito de Sousa admitted that the country is "very well served in terms of legislation protecting the rights of the child, from the Constitution to infra-constitutional laws".

The vice-president considered that "there is no lack of laws", but "more action is needed, in order to implement and implement them".

For Bornito de Sousa, only with more action will the country be able to "reduce to zero the number of children outside the education system".

He also defended the implementation of a "broad digital inclusion program from an early age", with a view to "avoid that, in the future, more young people are excluded from the labor market, which is increasingly technological or digital and global".

"The Vice President considered the passage of 75 years of UNICEF as an opportunity to honor all those who, under a mandate from the United Nations, work for the defense of children's rights, including in risk areas where adults are experiencing serious difficulties" , can be read in the note.

The event took place in Luanda and was marked by speeches "by the UNICEF representative in Angola and the resident coordinator of the United Nations", among others.

Emphasis also on the "testimonies of people whose examples of life inspire other people. Gospel singer Miguel Buila, activist Cármen Mateta and environmentalist Fernanda René shared their stories and experiences with the audience, pointing out UNICEF's challenge on the need of placing the child at the center of the political agenda, as a priority".
