Police mobilizes more than 100,000 troops for the festive season

More than 100,000 Angolan National Police (PNA) are deployed during the festive season in the country and should guide their actions by pedagogy and respect for citizens, it was announced.

The information was transmitted by the national director of Public Security and Operations of the PNA, Orlando Bernardo, within the scope of the ceremony to present the forces to ensure the festive season, which took place at the Operational Unit of Luanda.

According to Orlando Bernardo, more than 106 thousand members of the national police were mobilized to ensure this festive period at the level of the 18 provinces, in an operation called "Nkembo" (festive or joy in the Kikongo language).

The operation mobilizes "more than 106,000 workers, from all the bodies that make up the Ministry of Interior" and who "are working together to guarantee peace and tranquility to citizens during this festive period," he told reporters.

The ceremony was presided over by the general commander of the PNA, Paulo de Almeida, who urged the parade staff to cultivate "a good spirit of mission, discipline, respect for the citizens".

"We are going to carry out a pedagogical activity so that we can actually have a more fluid interaction between the population, so that they also feel comfortable with our police reinforcement, which will check during these days", he noted.

The general commissioner of police stressed that the operation of the festive season is composed of all the forces of the security system to "be able to interact together and make a sufficient front to guarantee also greater security".
