Ndongo119 - Embaixada Criativa will present the event program "Migrant Memories - Voices and Images of Angolan Labor Migration in the GDR", a project carried out in collaboration with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin and the Goethe-Institut Angola and which explores the stories and experiences of Angolan workers in the former East Germany.
Thus, on November 28th, a documentary photographic exhibition will open at 5:30 pm that addresses the stories of Angolan workers in the GDR.
The exhibition - open to the public and which will run until January 29, 2024 - is curated by Luamba Muinga (curator) and João Pedro Gonçalves (historian).
Alongside the exhibition, the "Migrant Memories" program will also feature other activities, taking place between November 29th and December 3rd. Workshops, dialogues, visits to archives and the city, as well as a cinema session, are some of the activities, and to participate you must register here.
The initiative is part of the project "Echos der Bruderländer" (Echos of Sister Countries), developed by HKW.
