The data was revealed this Thursday by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, during the presentation in the National Assembly of the summary of the execution reports of the General State Budget (OGE) for the last two quarters of 2022 and the first two quarters 2023.
According to the government official, the amount was 30.86 billion kwanzas in the third quarter of 2022, rising in the following quarter to 36.25 billion kwanzas.
In the first quarter of 2023, the debt value was 36.44 billion kwanzas and in the second quarter it was 53.81 billion kwanzas.
Public debt comprises debt service owed to banks, local and international multilateral and bilateral financial institutions.
Vera Daves noted that "in the first quarter of 2023 the debt service with banks and local investors was 1.06 billion kwanzas and in the second quarter it was 1.58 billion kwanzas", the government official told the deputies.
External debt service cost Angola in the third quarter of 2022 around 883 billion kwanzas and in the fourth quarter 835.62 billion kwanzas.
In relation to the first and second quarters of 2023, 510.75 billion kwanzas and 1.55 billion kwanzas were paid, respectively.
The Minister of Finance also indicated that oil production was between 1.14 and 1.09 million barrels of oil per day in the four quarters under analysis, with revenues falling from 4.76 billion kwanzas to 3.42 billion kwanzas. kwanzas, in the period under analysis.
In the field of budget execution, in the third quarter of 2023 a surplus was again recorded, in the order of 813.22 billion kwanzas, after the two previous quarters with deficits.
