The event took place on the 3rd and 4th of November, at the Belas Business Park Conference Center, Cuanza Norte building, in Luanda, and brought together professionals from the Hemotherapy services from all over the country, voluntary blood donation activists, donors and partners from the Instituto of Blood, with the aim of reflecting on a model of excellence in donation to the production of clinical and laboratory screening components, thus allowing the establishment of requirements for good practices in the country's hemotherapy services.
Jelson Gaieta, Social Responsibility Manager at Standard Bank Angola, believes that "in addition to all the support we give to Health, it makes perfect sense to start supporting and promoting these scientific meetings, which are of great importance. join the blood donation program, to participate in campaigns, so that, together, we can identify best practices and ensure that blood is increasingly safe".
The meeting of professionals demonstrated advances in hemotherapy, the development of national policies to promote voluntary blood donation and international collaborations to develop new solutions for the improvement of human health.
"We want blood banks to be able to respond in advance, for this reason, we have promoted, as partners of the National Blood Institute (INS), some initiatives with a view to mobilizing more blood donors and partners for the different initiatives of the INS itself. ", says Jelson Gaieta.
The II National Hemotherapy Forum was also held in a virtual format, to allow the participation of those who were outside Luanda, being able to collect more contributions and share experiences about the sector.
About the Heróis de Azul
The Heróis de Azul project is a Social Responsibility program by Standard Bank Angola, which brings together volunteers from different areas and levels of activity, taking them to meet needy communities to meet their basic needs in education and teaching, health and social entrepreneurship. , with the aim of improving their quality of life, providing them with tools and opportunities.
The project emerged as a result of the support provided by the Bank to hospitals and organizations of health professionals, which were already carrying out actions in the communities. The support provided was essentially in administrative matters, availability of medicines, equipment and expendable material. Support began to be provided with increasing frequency and, with each mission, we came into contact with new challenges.
We continue to favor partnerships so that we can see materialized the purposes for the benefit of the most needy, promoting coordinated and balanced action, with special attention to not overlapping or overloading any of the stakeholders, with a view to expanding action in the social sphere.
