Portuguese detained in Luanda for threats had weapons, uniforms and ammunition at home

A 50-year-old Portuguese man was detained in Luanda, in possession of ten firearms, ammunition and uniforms, when he threatened an Angolan woman who is alleged to have usurped land, a police source said.

According to the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), the Portuguese, who will be involved in crimes of usurpation of property and threats with firearms, was detained in Viana, in the Kikuxi neighborhood, as part of Operation 45 Graus, and was held in preventive detention , after being present to the Public Ministry.

The man reportedly used a weapon to intimidate the woman and prevent her from having access to his land, which he supposedly had custody of, through a third person, for which the owner filed a criminal complaint, which was issued by the Ministry Public a search warrant, search and seizure.

The SIC statement said that ten firearms were found in the Portuguese man's residence, seven of the AKM type, two shotguns and an air pressure gun, five magazines with 94 AKM rounds, 29 Galil rounds (Israeli machine gun ), 29 shotgun rounds, 12 pistol rounds and 26 carbine rounds.

Uniforms of the National Police and the Angolan Armed Forces, 12 pairs of boots, a Motorola branded communication radio, 12 rubber batons and several uniforms with the symbol of a security company were also seized.

The SIC adds that steps are being taken to fully clarify these crimes.

The so-called Operation 45 Degrees, launched in mid-October, aims to reduce violent crime in the country, mainly committed with the use of firearms, and has been carried out across the country.
