As reported this Tuesday by the Catholic Broadcaster of Angola, quoting one of the heads of the angolan workers, the workers of the Chinese construction company, located in the municipality of Belas, in Luanda, are also "forbidden to have contact with the outside world, including family members, under penalty of being fired".

Lusa contacted the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police, which promised to investigate the case.

Relatives of these are "forced" to travel to the company to have access to wages as a result of the limitation of relatives who work there, he said.

Stopping the spread of covid-19 inside the construction company's shipyards, which built the cities of Sequele and Kilamba, north and south of Luanda, is the reason for the "forced confinement" since December 2019, as the source of the broadcaster, "regretting" the situation.

Due to the lack of new contracts, employees are providing pastoral services, agriculture, cleaning and repairing vehicles and also denounce low wages and terrible working and food conditions.

Officials are also calling for "urgent intervention" from the authorities.
