In a statement, cited by Angop, the CFL said that the tanker wagon derailed this Tuesday, at around 9:27 am, between Catete and 'Barraca', and the incident caused fuel to spill and damaged the infrastructure of the railway branch, causing damage to approximately 500 concrete sleepers.
The fuel wagon that derailed, according to the statement, contained 55 thousand litres of diesel and was part of a group of nine wagons and a van, which were coming from Luanda to Malanje.
According to the CFL, cited by Angop, technical teams are already on the ground to remove the tanker that derailed and then restore the line on that section. In addition, an investigation team from the company is also on the ground to determine the causes of the incident.
Regretting the inconvenience caused, the CFL also asks for everyone's understanding and cooperation, ensuring that it is committed to restoring the service.
