According to Manuel Halaiwa, the 39-year-old woman, of Namibian nationality, was detained when she disembarked, on Saturday, in the capital, coming from the Brazilian city of São Paulo.
Manuel Halaiwa said that the accused belongs to a group that "designed this whole scheme to make her go to Brazil and return to Angola".
The SIC spokesperson said that the woman caught the authorities' attention because she showed "characteristic signs of a 'mule'" [a person who carries drugs in her body], having been subjected to a body scanner, which detected "foreign bodies in the abdomen".
Once the check was carried out, Manuel Halaiwa also said, the drug was detected, hidden in a belt around the abdomen, containing three rectangular-shaped packages, with adhesive tape, totaling 2.898 kilos.
The accused revealed that outside the airport there were three citizens who would be the contact points for the delivery of the drugs.
"The SIC carried out the sequence, created conditions for the delivery to be planned and right there, in an operational action, the individuals were detained on board a car", he explained.
According to Manuel Halaiwa, three citizens were arrested, a Nigerian, 56 years old, a vehicle dealer, and two Angolans, aged 36 and 39, also traders, stressing that the woman was recruited from Namibia, with the guarantee of a reward of 3500 dollars.
The accused remained in Brazil for three weeks, where she was received by a Nigerian citizen, who gave her the drug that was destined for Namibia, passing by land through Angolan territory, to the neighboring country.
"It is not the first time that this citizen has traveled to the national territory, she has already had two trips in March and April, under the same terms, which means that she has already made this journey other times and the drug seized was not destined for the national territory, but for the Namibian. It's an old scheme and the three citizens are also users and regulars of these practices", he said.
The SIC also arrested four national citizens for consumption, possession and sale of cocaine.
