According to a statement from the Press Center of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola (CIPRA), to which VerAngola had access, the theme of the panel will be "The Global Influence and Leadership of the First Ladies: how this affects the empowerment of the new generation of young people and African women".
"The First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, participates this Thursday, 13, in the city of Praia, Cape Verde, in a high-level panel discussion on 'The Global Influence and Leadership of the First Ladies: how it affects in the empowerment of the new generation of young people and African women', framed in the 6th edition of the Tropics Business Summit, at the invitation of the First Lady of Cape Verde, Débora Katisa de Carvalho, who will dynamize the panel", reads the note .
This panel, the statement said, aims to "take a general look" at the influence of the first ladies "in the development process of Africa and address the issue of gender equality and female leadership".
According to the note, the first ladies participating in the debate will "interact with a diverse range of women leaders, representing a variety of knowledge and ideas, but sharing a common objective: to accelerate the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women in their own communities and across the African continent".
The speakers will thus give "body" to an informal debate, where they will share their experience, as well as exchange ideas with the audience about "women's leadership, in the context of Africa's sustainable development process".
The note also clarifies that the Tropics Business Summit is an annual pan-African event that aims to "bring together entrepreneurs, political and community decision-makers, innovators and companies, providing them with a broad platform for contacts and business, covering all markets Africans", which, for the sixth consecutive year, will bring together more than 350 speakers, around 500 journalists and media professionals, more than 350 start-ups and investors and 50,000 online participants.
