Interclube qualifies for the next stage of the CAF Cup due to CFFA withdrawal

Interclube qualified for the next round of qualifying for the group stage of the African Football Confederation Cup, due to the withdrawal of CFFA, from Madagascar, confirmed the Angolan Football Federation to Lusa.

The vice president of FAF, José Carlos Miguel, said that, with the withdrawal of the Malagasy team, the Angolans from Interclube are automatically qualified.

In a statement that Lusa had access to, the CFFA, from Madagascar, informed that the flight that would transport the Malagasy team to Luanda was canceled by the local authorities, due to the closure of the air borders of Madagascar, until 23 October, in consequence of covid-19.

The second leg was scheduled for Friday in Luanda, after the Angolans had won the first leg, in Madagascar, by 3-0.

For the same competition, 1º de Agosto, who lost on Saturday against Red Arows FC of Zambia by 1-0, in the latter's ground, plays the second leg, in Luanda, on 24 October.

For the last round of access to the group stage of the African League, Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese Alexandre Santos, and who drew on Sunday against AS Otoho, of Congo 2-2, in the latter's ground, play the second leg in the Friday in Luanda.

For the same competition, Sagrada Esperança, who beat Essuatini's Royal Leopard, on Saturday, in Luanda, by 3-1, will also play on Friday, for the second leg.
