Angola will have a Furniture Technology Center to respond to the technical requests of companies in the sector, especially in support of certification of the final product, announced this Friday the Secretary of State for Trade, Amadeu Nunes.

According to the governor, who was speaking at the official opening of the 2nd edition of the Real Estate Fair, promoted by the City of China in Luanda, the executive's challenges in the promotion and dissemination of products made in Angola include the launch of a Real Estate Technology Center.

The aim is to respond "to the broad technical demands of companies in the sector, especially in supporting the certification of the final product in line with the demands of multiple markets, decisively reinforcing the intervention of real estate companies on a global scale," said Amadeu Nunes.

The 2nd edition of the China City Real Estate Fair began this Friday in Luanda and runs until 30 November, bringing together Angolan and foreign exhibitors in the municipality of Viana.

For Amadeu Nunes, the creation of the Furniture Technology Center will compete for the "promotion of a qualified entrepreneurship, through new products, materials and different business models from the existing business fabric.

The actions in progress at the country level, he highlighted, also aim to "attract foreign investment to the sector and support technically qualified young people who augur to develop business in the furniture industry and furniture design".

The multiplicity of micro and small enterprises, in general carpentry shops, that operate in the country was also highlighted by the ruler, mentioning that despite the use of local raw material, wood, its equipments and installations "are almost always deficient" and the work "is still predominantly handmade".

The final product is mainly destined to the domestic market "where the commercial circuit is mostly informal, whose indicators are still imprecise", he stressed.

With the actions developed by the executive through the fairs of the furniture and wood industries and the "praiseworthy initiative" of the City of China, he observed, it has been possible to glimpse a universe of companies and furniture industries already with "modern standards".

"We were pleased with this achievement because the furniture exhibition, in general, proposes to move towards a knowledge economy, internationalize, promote entrepreneurship and activate sustainability in a transversal way", he said.
