Between October 20th, Tuesday, and November 21st, Saturday, Kimpa21, an artistic residence and urban intervention will take place.
This residency will host, during the above mentioned dates, an artist. The first participation will be of Yola Balanga, a visual artist and performer.
During the residency, Yola Balanga will be invited to participate in several initiatives: debates, workshops, collaborations, presentations. among others. At the end of the residency an urban intervention will be made as a result of the project developed. This intervention may take place in a public space, an exhibition, a publication, among others.
The project is organized by the Laboratory of Criticism and Curatorship, in partnership with ELA - Espaço Luanda Arte, and in honor of Kimpa Vita - who participated in struggles against slavery and fought for the unification of the Kingdom of Congo.
