ZAP Viva exhibits documentaries on "cultural heritage" to mark Independence month

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of National Independence, ZAP Viva decided, during the month of November, to show documentaries about the "cultural heritage" of the country.

The first documentary will arrive next Wednesday, November 4th. Designated "O Lendário Tio Liceu e os Ngola Ritmos" (in english: "The Legendary Uncle High School and the Ngola Rhythms"), the documentary will talk about Liceu Vieira Dias.

"This documentary by Jorge António portrays Liceu Vieira Dias, one of the most emblematic figures in Angolan music, whose impact and influence is still felt today," the channel said in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The documentary, which will be broadcast from 9:30 pm, will allow viewers to travel through the past of Liceu Vieira Dias and "understand the cultural context of the time" of this artist and his contemporaries.

"This film counts with testimonies of important figures like Rui Mingas, Amadeu Amorim or Ana Maria de Mascarenhas, who help us to understand the place of Ngola Ritmos in our history", the note adds.

Liceu Vieira Dias, better known as 'Tio Liceu', was the founder of the musical group Ngola Ritmos and nowadays his songs still "occupy a prominent place in the popular Angolan songbook".

In November, ZAP Viva will broadcast, every Wednesday will be reserved for the screening of documentaries about the history of our country.
