According to a statement from the ZEE, which VerAngola had access to, the ZEE is attending the aforementioned conference, which kicked off on Monday in Dubai, under the motto "Zones and Changing Global Economic Structures – Unlocking New Ways of Investing".
The conference brings together approximately 4000 participants, including leaders, experts, financial institutions and authorities from economic zones and free trade zones worldwide.
"The WFZO aims to foster international cooperation, share best practices and facilitate the exchange of knowledge to maximize the economic impact of these zones", the statement reads.
The event therefore has an "ambitious program", which includes ministerial-level meetings, leadership seminars, an investment marketplace, panel discussions, WFZO board meetings, B2B sessions, as well as networking opportunities with various entities.
"As an active member of the WFZO, the EP ZEE has played a significant role in promoting services and actions aimed at contributing to the economic development of affiliated areas. This role is reinforced by its responsibilities as chair of the WFZO Membership Committee, where it is responsible for reformulating the membership process and attracting new members," the note states, which also indicates that the ZEE "also constitutes the organization's Regional Office in Southern Africa."
At the event, the ZEE also reported that it received "an award in recognition of the work carried out in the region, consolidating its position as the focal point for Free Trade Zone organizations in the SADC Zone."
